Description :

THE MUSEUM OF TURKISH AND ISLAMIC ARTS exhibits a vast collection of nearly 40,000 pieces of Islamic art from the 8th to the 19th century, including ceramics, glassware, sculptures, sarcophagi and carpets.

The museum also includes an interesting ethnographic section that presents reconstructions of daily life from different times and places in Turkey during the 19th century.

This museum is also worth a visit for the architecture of the building itself. The inner courtyard is truly a haven of peace with a breathtaking view of the minarets of the Blue Mosque and the hippodrome.
